Another week, another ‘Friday Phonk’. The uncertainty of the country finds us talking about the race for President and, locally, the elections in Baltimore that determined the Mayor, City Council President & more.
Condolences to the family of DaBaby. The emcee recently lost his brother Glenn Johnson. The cause of death has not been confirmed but DaBaby has been on record talking about the complicated situation between him and his brother. We take the time to discuss the importance of mental health, our own experiences and the overall impact on the Black community and musicians dealing with these types of issues.
Review of the new Busta Rhymes album, Top 5 songs and much more so tap in 🎧

…will be back next week. That’s what happens when politics mix with a pandemic & the changing seasons to drain all of your energy 🥴 It’s important to stick up for what you trust in, however. Americans are supposed to have a certain level of trust in government but that is being tested thanks to the current administration. I wrote about these things in an article called Freedom, Voting & The Raw Truth over on my website, so check it out.
We are officially accepting submissions to be featured in the Indie/Hustler Spotlight on Friday Phonk. If you are a creative of any discipline and would like to spread your message and your art, please send all the details below👇🏾
I’ll catch up with y’all next week…get at us in the meantime!
