Indie/Hustler Spotlight
Emune – Hardflip
If you listened to the podcast, you already know Emune. This Austin, Texas born & raised beat pro brings true Southern Phonk. Inspired by the sounds of artists from the 90’s Memphis Underground Hip Hop scene, Emune has a ear for dusty loops that he carefully flips into the sub dimension.
He’s released 19 projects since 2014 and joins forces with the group Purpleposse often with satisfying results. Check out the cut ‘Hardflip’ above in a video that links modern Phonk (not to be confused with any other Funk, mind you…) to the early Bronx, NY Hip Hop scene.
